China launches first direct flight route to Abu Dhabi
The inaugural service, operated by Air China with 278 passengers onboard, arrived at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport late Saturday night. The route uses a Boeing 787 aircraft and will operate four round trips per week, representing Air China’s first newly launched international service of 2026.
The new connection is expected to strengthen the aviation network between the two nations, providing a faster and more convenient corridor for people-to-people exchanges, trade and economic cooperation, and cultural interaction.
An airline official said that Air China had undertaken comprehensive preparations to ensure passengers enjoy a safe, comfortable, and pleasant travel experience. Industry observers added that the new route is likely to boost practical cooperation between China and the UAE under the Belt and Road Initiative framework.
